A Sunday Roast Dinner just wouldn't be the same without the roast potatoes!!
Did you know that we had to be encouraged to eat a potato?! The Spanish brought them back from Peru in 1536 but it wasn’t until 1795 that they were eaten in Britain. They were, in fact, regarded with great distaste amongst the British and were only adopted after a huge campaign that was launched by the Board of Agriculture. https://www.foodjam.co.uk/the-history-behind-the-british-sunday-roast/. www.thegroveatwalcot.com have great roast potatoes :)
